What a culture fair IQ test measures
This test measures fluid intelligence: your ability to spot a rule you have never seen before and apply it. Because every question is made of shapes rather than words, it does not reward vocabulary, reading speed or the school system you grew up in. That is what "culture fair" means — a Turkish, Brazilian and German test-taker face exactly the same difficulty.
How the questions are built
Every puzzle is generated from an explicit rule rather than drawn by hand. A rule might be "the number of shapes increases from left to right", "the shading cycles through three states" or "the figure rotates 45 degrees per column". The five wrong options are each a single controlled change to the correct answer, so guessing by elimination is genuinely hard and there is never more than one defensible answer.
How your score is calculated
Your raw number of correct answers is mapped onto the familiar IQ scale, where 100 is average and 15 points is one standard deviation. The table below is the standard interpretation.

- Treat the number as a range of about ten points, not an exact value.
